The Easiest Ways to Triple Space in Every Part of Your Kitchen, According to Pro Organizers

When it comes to organizing your kitchen, it can seem overwhelming at the start. Depending on your kitchen, it can be difficult to organize, especially if it’s small or with limited storage space. Luckily, I spoke to professional organizers about the best ways to save space all over your kitchen with zero effort. That’s right! Read on to transform your kitchen to an organization paradise that’s clutter- and worry-free thanks to the experts.

The Fridge

My refrigerator goes from neat and tidy to a disaster zone in a matter of days. And while it may seem impossible to get it organized and clutter-free, it’s not a lost cause. “To make the most of your fridge space, you can use storage bins to make your life easier,” Angie Kreller, an interior designer at Yabby, says. “They make it easy to organize all of your food and still keep them visible.”

Lavi agrees: “Start by using clear bins to group similar items. One for snacks, one for sauces, one for leftovers. When everything has a home, you waste less space and less food. Add a lazy Susan in deep shelves or corners so small jars and condiments don’t get lost in the back. For fridges with tall shelves, stackable shelf risers are a great fix. They give you a second layer of storage for short containers without making a mess.” Be right back, adding to cart ASAP!

Under the Sink

For organizing underneath your sink, it’s hard to keep it tidy if you have a lot of stuff because it’s usually such a small space. Meir Lavi, project manager for 123remodeling, says it doesn’t have to be! “This space is usually underused because of plumbing. I always recommend a two-tier organizer designed to fit around pipes. It creates an extra shelf without interfering with access.”

Lavi also shared a great organizing hack that’s perfect for underneath the sink: “A tension rod can be installed across the cabinet to hang spray bottles or dish gloves. It gets items off the base and makes them easier to grab. Use a slide-out plastic bin or caddy to group cleaning products. You can pull it out, use what you need, and tuck it away again with no fuss.” Brilliant!

The Pantry

My pantry often looks like a tornado just hit it! It’s so hard to keep it not only clean but organized so I can fit more canned goods and food in it. “The pantry is one the places that needs the most attention,” Kreller says. “For this space, I suggest using clear jars or baskets to keep everything tidy. Adding labels to these will also make sure that you and anyone else living in the house will keep things in the right place!”

Angelica York, vice president of  Saint Louis Closet Co, also gave me a few of her favorite tricks. “If you have a pantry, having a custom storage system with zones for specific items goes a long way. Use all the vertical space you can in your pantry and add in matching containers to stack and store more efficiently. Have an area for baking supplies, a snack zone, and cooking ingredients. Take advantage of pull-out drawers, tray shelves, and dividers. These will prevent your space from bulking out and making the area look smaller.”
